News from Tate Birnie:
On Saturday, April 14th you can come to "Aged to Perfection" - an event honoring Chip Castleberry. (I have attached the flyer) I am on the board at the Sebastopol Senior Center (and yes, I am about 30 years younger than the next board member!) Every year we pick a community member that has contributed significantly to honor as the Distinguished Citizen of the year. This year we are honoring former Analy High football coach and athletic director, Chip Castleberry. (He is also co-owner of Coaches' Corner with another Analy PE teacher/coach, Dean Lamb). The event is a fun one; basically a food and wine tasting event and live and silent auctions. It is the major fundraiser for the senior center. Tickets are $40 which will get you into the event and give you unlimited wine "tasting" (but they pour you a full glass) from the 8-10 wineries that will be there (or if you don't like wine, Ace Cider will be there as will beer from Lagunitas in Petaluma). About 25 restaurants donate food and you just take your tasting plate around and sample all sorts of treats. A number of your former teachers will be in attendance. I actually think it is going to be fun to see folks we haven't see in years.
Hope you will consider attending. If you get a group together, it is nice to get a table of 10. We will set it aside for you labeled with your names and you can have your own little mini reunion.
Please feel free to forward on the flyer to anyone you think might be interested ... especially parents or older friends that might want to spend some money to support a very worthwhile cause.
